A native of Madrid, Spain, Santiago’s American father transported the family to Kansas City, Kansas, where she later attended Washington High School. Although she was a performer from an early age, Santiago was also a very shy child and sensitive about her command of English, preferring behind the scenes work. Meanwhile, her very traditional mother was encouraging her to marry, raise children and take care of a future husband. However, over time, Santiago’s mother did an about-face and encouraged her daughter to evolve toward her own business career.

She credits her role as a rape victim in an episode of The Shield as one of her more formative performances. She also enjoyed working with actor Mark Harmon on NCIS, praising him for being one of the most generous actors in Hollywood. Santiago’s television credits include, among others: Angel, Strong Medicine, The Handler, JAG, Charmed, Bones, Brothers & Sisters,In Plain Sight, CSI: Miami, Rizzoli & Isles, Criminal Minds, and Scandal.

She made her film debut opposite Eddie Murphy and Jeff Garlin in Daddy Day Care. Her feature credits include: Sublime, Shattered, Cutting Horse, and the upcoming romantic comedy Byrd and the Bees.
