Lend Me a Tenor – “This is really something to sing about”

Rousing, raucous and ridiculously funny, this revival of the
Tony Award winning comedy is quite simply one of the best productions on a Los Angeles stage in recent years.

The storyline sees a world famous opera singer unable to perform on opening night, prompting a zany plan for a last minute replacement.

Director Moosie Drier and his hugely talented cast nail every comic beat of the ensuing chaos while a sumptuous set and some stunning costumes all add to the entertainment.

Every line delivered by Stephen Van Dorn as the bell hop is laugh out loud funny thanks to his choice to turn in an eccentric performance which pays tribute to a range of screwball
comedy characters from showbiz history.

There’s some great singing talent in the Actors Co-Op
company too and the show’s comic highlight is the finale which features a recap of the play’s main scenes performed at fast forward speed.

Bravo to all involved. This one is really something to sing about.
