Sidebeat Music caught up with Jay Matsueda at the Blue Whale in Little Tokyo, downtown Los Angeles, where he was performing with amazing musicians. Jay describes his music as folksy, singer-songwriter music laden with jazz.

Jay’s band is made up of players who are the best in the music business. They are friends of his, and their credits include Sting, Prince, Michael Jackson, Sheila E., Chick Corea, Dr Dre, John Densmore, etc.

Jay Matsueda is lead vocalist and plays guitar. me on vocals and guitar,
Katisse Buckingham on flute/sax (substitutes for Bob Mintzer sometimes on Yellowjackets gigs),
Ric Fierabracci on bass (played with Chick Corea),
Chris Wabich (has played for Sting and Sheila E.),
Matt Greif (currently of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet),
Quinn Johnson (has played with John Densmore, etc).
