Ruth made her film debut in the 1998 film “Soldiers Leap” directed by Robert Cavanah starring Billy Boyd and Rupert Graves.
A lead character in the sci-fi comedy “Folklore” in Los Angeles, Folklore has gone on to win “Best Acting Ensemble” and “Best Director” awards for Justin Calen Chenn at the Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival and the prestigious “Silver Palm Award” at the Mexico Film Festival. Also nominated for “Best Sci-Fi Feature” at the International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival, Phoenix.
Ruth recently filmed the independent movie “The Cursed Man” from the cult book by Keith Rommel.
Nominated in the 2013 Broadway World Los Angeles Awards as ‘Best Leading Actress’ for her portrayal of Mrs Darling and Captain Hook in ‘Peter Pan: The Boy Who Hated Mothers’ at Noah Wylie’s The Blank Theatre. Ruth has many prominent theatre roles on her resume from Great Britain.
She appeared as the lead female role in The Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh’s anniversary production of “Faust” (parts 1 +2). The show was nominated in the CATS awards (Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland). Ruth has garnered many glowing reviews for her performances including in The Citizen Theatre Glasgow’s sell out production of “No Mean City” written by Alex Norton with music from Ricky Ross. Ruth has worked with the Oxford Stage Company (nee Headlong) in their number 1 tour of the classic “Mean Should Weep”.

Ruth produced the Avenue Theatre Company in Greenwich for 2 years. Their sell out shows included “Hansel and Gretel” and “A Midsummer Nights Dream”. She has also produced the web show “John + Jane” with Pepe Balderama and helped produce the short film “Sapphire Strange”.
Prior to commencing her acting career Ruth started dancing at a young age and was accepted onto Scottish Ballet’s Dance Education Scheme where she was privileged to dance in various ballets including Giselle, Napoli, The Nutcracker and in the Margaret Morris Movement, as well as playing the young lead role of Clara in The Nutcracker. Ruth went on to become the Scottish Junior Ballet Champions and then the Scottish Senior Ballet Champion at stage festivals in Scotland.
Born in Falkirk, Scotland Ruth graduated from Rose Bruford Drama College, London with an honors degree and was Critic’s Choice for her graduation showcase. Ruth divides her time between her native Scotland, her home in London and Los Angeles.
