Lisa Mouhibian was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She started out as a model and songwriter, but was inspired by greats like Maya Angelou and became a full-fledged writer. After reading a story in the LA Times about the touching working relationship between Bobby Sharp and Natasha Miller, she spent the next six years working on the novel, Unchain My Heart.
