Film and Television actor, Chelsea Rendon can next be seen in the drama McFarland starring Kevin Costner and Maria Bello from The Walt Disney Company being released on August 22 nationally. Rendon most recently co-starred in the critically acclaimed feature film, A Better Life, director Chris Weitz’ gritty inner city drama that Summit Entertainment in which Rendon plays feisty Ruthie Valdez, the girlfriend of lead character Luis Riquelme (Jose Julian) and would love to appear on Actor’s e-chat for an interview.
Chelsea most recently guest starred on the F/X series The Bridge which stars Damien Bicher (who she starred with in A Better Life) as well as the TNT series Rizzoli and Isles and the CBS series The Mentalist and just completed a role for the pilot Bosch. She also had a featured role in the indie action drama Kill Kapone from Novus Content.
A graduate of Montebello High School, Rendon made her television debut in an episode of ER in 2001, and has gone on to book roles on such show as The Shield, Line of Fire, Judging Amy and Flash Forward.
In the feature film, Nine Lives, which co-starred Robin Wright, Holly Hunter, Jason Isaacs, Dakota Fanning, Amanda Seyfried and Sissy Spacek, she portrayed the daughter of actress and star Elpidia Carrillo.
Rendon’s additional feature credits include Journey of Redemption, Exorcism, No Turning Back and Senor White.
Rendon is also set to produce and star in the short film Bound By Crime and and star in Wounds In The Mirror. She previously was featured in the shorts,Ni Ni and Silk staring Shohreh Aghdashloo.
A Los Angeles native, Rendon knew from an early age that performing was in her cards.
She was already a professional actor in commercials at age 6 and she booked her first feature film the following year. The seven year-old Rendon portrayed Cristina Fernandez in No Turning Back, an intense drama and true story about a father and daughter who are on the run after an unfortunate accident. The film garnered a great deal of attention and a Best Picture award from ALMA in 2002, as well as the Audience Award at the Malaga Spanish Film Festival in Spain. For her natural performance, young Rendon was recognized as a promising Young Latino by Latinos in Hollywood.
Rendon, who has now performed in all media, gives major credit to her acting coach, Lori Lively, for setting her down the right path.
When she isn’t in front of the camera, Rendon is taking boxing lessons at a local gym. She also enjoys basketball, football, bowling, and she plays guitar and piano.
