Shaun Royer
A renowned performer, teacher, director and choreographer, he has appeared in The Tap Dance Kid with Alfonso Ribero (Silver Spoons, Fresh Prince of Bel Air). Other notable Stage Roles include the national tours of Cats, Big River and Guys and Dolls.
After college at the University of Texas at Austin, he went to work on the Mickey Mouse Club where he coached mega-stars Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Ryan Gosling.
Inspired by working with these talented individuals, he started his own performing group “The Rising Stars of Texas” in San Antonio, TX. Notable students from the Rising Stars include Hilary and Haley Duff; Grammy Award winner Rebecca Valadez; Curtis Holbrook (Hairspray, Xanadu, Fosse, Footloose), Lindsey Blaufarb (choreographer of CeeLo Green’s Forget You video, finalist on America’s Next Best Dance Crew, Limp Bizkit, Pink, Missy Elliot, You Got Served, Love Don’t Cost a Thing and many others.)
Moving back to New York to play Judas in the revival of Jesus Christ Superstar on Broadway. He realized teaching was his calling. He became an administrator and faculty member at the world famous, Broadway Dance Center, where he taught voice and dance. He also founded the school’s performance group AIM. While teaching in NYC, he produced, directed and choreographed many national tours, industrials and concerts. Internationally, working with such greats as Yolanda Adams, Patty Labelle, Patty Lapone, Rita Moreno, Harry Connick Jr, DMX, Shakira, Queen, 5ive and TLC. In New York he also taught at the Professional Performing Arts School. (Alicia Keys and Britney Spears)
Next, Shaun became the resident director/choreographer of the Stockbridge Dinner Theater and Cabaret and an Instructor at Harvard University. There, in the Berkshires, he choreographed over 100 musicals, a national tour and the New England Patriots Super Bowl appearance in New Orleans. Back in Texas, he became the VP of RTF Productions. Within two years he launched two musical powerhouse groups. The first, SAVVY, which starred in their owntelevision TV series that has been airing for two years on the STARZ network and signed to
Li’l Wayne’s record label. The second group, #1 Crush, is managed by Mathew Knowles
(Beyoncé Knowles-Carter’s father).
Shaun has just finished working as the Tour Manager for Caroline Sunshine and Friends
Concert Jam featuring Roshon Fegan, IM5 and Sierra McCormick and currently coaches
several successful television and movie actors from his private studio in Los Angeles. His
students have appeared in shows such as Falling Skies, Melissa and Joey, True Blood,
Shameless, The Orignals and Vampire Diaries. All in all, Shaun has directed/produced over
300 stage shows, 70 concerts, 20 commercials, 2 reality shows, 3 television pilots, 4 short
films, 3 documentary/PSA’s and countless industrial films and music videos. His upcoming
projects are The Actor’s Gym an 8-week acting class for Fitness professionals and The Reel
Deal Actor’s Workshop a week long intensive actor’s workshop culminating in a short film.
Shaun is also owns a coaching business in North Hollywood, specializing in coaching
performers, athletes and entrepreneurs.
