Growing up as a boy during the 1940s and 1050s in Israel, before becoming a state, was a childhood that included living to survive the numerous attacks and massacres by the Arabs against the Jews. The English separated the Jews and Arabs and instigated hatred between them. The motto of the Arabs was to get rid of the Jews by throwing them into the sea. What was it like to grow up in such an environment?
Reuven spent many years in England studying at RADA and participated in international professional actors course directed by Sir Lawrence Olivier at the Old Vic.
The movies Reuven made in Israel, which are still legends today, Salamonico I and Salamonico II, the Father. Salamonico I screened at the Cannes Film Festival and Salamonico II, the Father screened at the Berlin Film Festival and won first prize for best picture and best actor.
After finding success in the theatre in Isreal, Reuven moved to the United States and found success in TV and Film, appearing in Casablanca, Taxi, Sadat, Hill Street Blues, Masada, MacGyver, Murder She Wrote, Seinfeld, and even appearing in the hugely successful Adam Sandler movie You Don’t Mess With The Zohan.
