Hollywood, CA (February 18, 2014) Charlie Bracknay, Hair Stylist, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Haus Salon in Minneapolis, MN was named BeautyMaker of the Year at The Third Hollywood Annual BeautyMaker Awards held in the Blossom Room of the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel on Sunday evening February 16, 2014, where 29 hair stylists coupled with 29 models, representing nine states around the country, vied for the coveted title BeautyMaker of the Year in a Model Showcase competition.
Charlie Bracknay told audience members and the 20 celebrity hair stylist judges at the Sold Out Standing Room Only event: This is The New Hollywood Look. My hairstyle for my model references the classic look of Hollywood re-imagined for a modern day woman. Bracknay’s model, Kayla Bresee of Long Beach, CA, wore a stylish floor length black and white evening gown slit up the side. Make-Up Artist Camilla Orosco, a hair agent from Boise, ID designed Bresee¹s make-up, and Toni Wells, Brand Director of Number 4 High Performance Hair Care in Costa Mesa, CA sponsored Bracknay¹s winning entry.
Steven Cassiola and Annie Casciola, Publishers of BE! Beauty Entertainment magazine and Executive Producers of the event said: “We were very excited to bring our annual awards show to Hollywood for the first time. Our event celebrates and honors hair salon people who are making a positive difference in society and recognizes role models from all segments of the beauty world.”
Runners Up in the Model Showcase competition included:
First Runner-Up: stylist Leonel Rodriguez of Leonel Rodriguez Alta Peluguería from Chihuahua, Mexico and his model Carolina Urrea who were sponsored by Farouk;
Second Runner-Up: stylist Terrence Michael Renk of Pro Rituals from La Jolla, CA and his model Alena Brock who were sponsored by Pro Rituals;
Third Runner-Up: stylist Mario Raimondi of Just Salon in Millburn, NJ and his model Melissa Marin who were sponsored by Davines; and Fourth Runner-Up: stylist Susie Bond of Perfect 5th Salon of Mooresville, NC and her model Laura Queen who were sponsored by L’Oreal Professionnel.
