We’re The Millers: Who knew drug smuggling could be so much fun?

We’re the Millers: A bunch of losers (Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston), marijuana, guns and bad guys make for a very funny movie. <p< < p=””> </p< <>

I am a fan of Jason Sudeikis, he is a comedic marvel. His timing is impeccable. He excels at this genre, but I’m curious if he can delve further. I am not a fan of Jennifer Aniston as I find her acting to be the whiny, why me type of character. But there was something magical about putting these two onscreen as the chemistry radiated. They were both quite funny and this critic was surprised.
Sudeikis plays David Clark, a veteran pot dealer. Jennifer Aniston plays Rose, a stripper. Despite living in the same building, and passing frivolities, these two do not like each other. After a mugging/robbery, David must explain to his boss, Brad Gurdlinger (Ed Helms) that his pot and stash of money are gone. Brad threatens David’s life and insists he drives to Mexico to pick up a “small” shipment. Not wanting to go alone as he feels it’s too dangerous, David decides to hire a family. Along with Rose, the nerdy kid next door, Kenny (Will Poulter), the homeless Casey (Emma Roberts), they become The Millers. They meet a slew of nefarious individuals while trying to smuggle the pot out. There are a lot of comedic elements that happen afterwards which left me in tears. <p< < p=””> </p< <>

Will Poulter stands out as Kenny as he showed great comic timing. His nerdy look, skinny physique and funny mannerisms put him in a class above. He became famous for his 2007 movie, “Son of Rambow.” I became a fan, and can’t wait to see what he does next. <p< < p=””> </p< <>

Quick rant: Despite bringing in the money at the box office, this movie is getting shredded by my fellow movie critics. Rotten Tomatoes gave this movie a 47%. I’m beginning to wonder if that website likes comedies or are they offended by the crude humor. The audience was lively, the applause deafening, the timing was sensational. This critic came away happy and I hope you will as well. Stay tuned! <p< < p=””> </p< <>
