Hi everybody, I’m Andrea Rueda of the Actors Reporter and welcome to the TradeVine. It’s been a busy week in Hollywood and, as always, we’ve got you covered. Our goal at the TradeVine is to help you stay informed and to keep up with some of the entertainment news you may have missed in the Trades, such as The Hollywood Reporter, Daily Variety, and Backstage.

The Hollywood Reporter, Aug 13th – Olympics 2012: London Games Rank as Most-Watched Event in U.S. History, by Michael O’Connell. NBC might have drawn the ire of many viewers, critics and Twitter users during its exclusive two-week coverage of the 2012 London Olympics, but the network likely isn’t taking it too hard. Besting the past two Summer Games by double digits, NBC’s oft-controversial coverage slides past Beijing with a total of 219.4 million viewers over 17 days.

Daily Variety, Aug 14th – Mucho Macho MundoFox, by Anna Marie de la Fuente. Club Nokia was decked out in red and white polka dots and stripes last week, a bouncy motif to herald the launch of Fox’s Spanish-lingo network MundoFox. The venue was packed with media buyers, advertisers and stars of MundoFox shows, including Marlon Moreno, the leading man of the net’s flagship drama “El Capo,” think Tony Soprano en Espanol. Execs in the crowd were happy but admittedly weary after working nonstop to get the network from zero to 60 in barely six months.

Also in the Daily Variety, Aug 14th – Imagen Awards emphasize the fiesta, by Eddie Kim. The 27th Imagen Awards, celebrating positive Latino portrayals in TV and film, kicked off with a blast of mariachi music and a bevy of yells and whistling from the crowd. Last Friday’s event felt more like a party than a tribute event; at least the celebs who filled the BevHilton seemed to think so, offering up a solid selection of laughs and blooper-reel moments throughout.
