We’ve found the most informative and interesting articles designed to help you. We know you’re busy, but we also know how important it is to stay informed. Hollywood Reporter, Spring Double issue, April 29th-May 6th. TLC is prepping 18 new series and specials, including one called, “Homecoming,” a Billy Ray Cyrus-hosted series that reunites soldiers with their loved ones. TruTV announced the acquisition of the ABC game show, “Wipeout,” and eight new series including one called “Chill,” about a profanity-spouting Brooklyn ice sculptor. Learn more about contestants in the “Wipeout” reality show in the Reality Rocks Expo article at W W W dot Actors Reporter dot com.

Back Stage, April 21st-27th. In the Advice section, “What can actors do to help their managers do their job?” reported by Jessica Gardner. Frederick Levy of Management 101 in Los Angeles says that he wished every client asked this question. Representing actors is a team effort, and actors who simply sit by the phone waiting for it to ring are not going to succeed. The most important thing an actor can do to help their manager is to prepare for auditions. Steven Buchsbaum of Ad Astra Talent Management in Los Angeles says the most important thing an actor can do is have trust and faith that their manager believes in them and is doing everything he can to make your career move forward. Communicate with your manager. Linda Rohe of Coastal Entertainment Productions out of New York agrees with having an open line of communication. Keep your manager up to date with your schedule, conflicts, and anything else that needs to be booked out.

Daily Variety, Monday, April 25th. In the Insiders section, Blast from the Past, TMC fest tunes up oldies, by Michael Sullivan. Everything will be new again in Hollywood this week as Turner Classic Movies unspools its second annual TCM Classic Film Festival. The curtain rises on the fest with the world premiere of a restored print of “An American in Paris,” in keeping with this year’s fest theme, “Music and the Movies.” “Paris” star Leslie Caron will be on hand for the screening that also marks the pic’s 60th anniversary. More than 70 pics will screen at Grauman’s Chinese, the Egyptian Theatre and other venues through Sunday.
