I am a fan of John Ford movies. From the countless movies he directed starring John Wayne, Ford has proven to be a master of his craft. His eye for detail and shadowing puts him in another realm. His films are a wonder to watch and the cinematography is a sight to see. I was looking forward to watching this movie, but came away disappointed.
From Tom Joad in the wonderful movie, “The Grapes of Wrath,” to Gil Carter in “The Ox-Bow Incident,” and as Juror #8 in “12 Angry Men,” Henry Fonda is a multi-versatile actor. He’s a very expressive individual with an uncanny ability to tell a story with his eyes. This movie was no different. Fonda plays a former priest, now a fugitive on the run in a small fictional town in Central America. The authorities are denouncing Christianity and want anyone associated with it dead. <p< < p=””> </p< <>

Quick rant: Fonda does stand out in this disappointing movie. His acting was top-notch, and, up until a few years ago, I was never a fan. His performances over the years grew on me, and now I look forward to watching any film this man is in. The story was original, but I became detached and lost interest. I found it boring and yearned for more. It seemed like everyone was all over the place at one time. I couldn’t tell what was going on from one moment to the next, and this exhausted me. Not a good film, John Ford has done much better. Stay tuned! <p< < p=””> </p< <>
