This high altitude thriller takes flight as a high quality movie thanks to another towering performance by Liam Neeson as the unstoppable action hero.
It’s “Taken” on a plane with an Agatha Christie whodunit thrown in as the gruff star plays an Air Marshall determined to find the terrorist texting him threats to kill fellow passengers every 20 minutes
As the dead bodies pile up and the suspense grows, everyone on board is a suspect, even the flight attendants, played by 12 Years a Slave Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o and Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery, along with a quirky passenger played by Julianne Moore.
But once Neeson has indentified the villain, they are going to regret ever tangling with this tough guy.
It’s fun to see him unleashed – like a giant Irish wrecking ball – once the film’s secrets are revealed and he has to save the day.
Under the pacey direction of Juame Collet-Serra, this is Neeson’s best action performance yet. If my plane is ever in trouble, I want him sitting next to me!
