FIFTY SHADES OF GREY – “more moronic than erotic”
– Movie Review by Actors Reporter
RATING: 2 out of 5
Fifty Shades of Grey is, sadly, 125 minutes of boredom.
The movie is a huge letdown for many reasons, not least the complete lack of chemistry between the leads. Jamie Dornan is bland as Christian Grey, Dakota Johnson is dull as Anastasia Steele and together they stir up zero passion.
The supposedly steamy tale of a sadomasochistic relationship between a virginal college student and a wealthy businessman also suffers from lazy and cheap production design. In some scenes it looks like they spent only a few dollars on the sets.
Director Sam Taylor-Johnson does nothing to compensate for the poor script, the pace slows to a crawl after a promising start and fans of the wildly popular books will ultimately be disappointed by the largely sexless atmosphere.
We hoped for erotic, instead we got moronic.
RATING: 2 out of 5.
