Championship Networking Tip – Judge the picture, not the frame

Judge The Picture, Not The Frame

As you meet new people, focus on their names, the names of their companies, and what they tell you they do. In entertainment business related activities, don’t make the mistake of judging people dress, what they look like, or their jewelry. Unless you’re casting an actor for a part, the outside package of someone in the entertainment industry is not important.

Focus on the picture, not on the frame.

They say, it takes all kinds. And, for sure, in the entertainment business, there are all kinds of people. It’s not what’s on the outside that’s most important, but on the inside. You want to meet a certain director? It shouldn’t matter if his hair is messy or gray, or if his clothes are sloppy. What matters is that he is the director, producer, or casting director you want to meet to further your career.

Have you noticed that many times the most “beautiful people” at entertainment-related events are the actors and others looking for their next gig. Focus on the person, not the package.
