Eating balanced meals is another key to good nutrition AND to maintaining or losing weight. EVERY meal should contain a combination of proteins, high fiber carbohydrates, and healthy fats.
In other words, we NEED the macronutrients found in all THREE types of food: proteins, carbs, AND fats.
When we eat balanced meals every four hours, our blood sugar is never too high or too low. And, if we want our bodies to burn fat, we’ve got to balance our blood sugar levels.
So, if our blood sugar is too high we are storing fat or, perhaps even worse, if our blood sugar level is too low we are, we are losing muscle tissue. Something none of us want to do.
